When looking for welding companies, Parmac Engineering Services Ltd are able to offer some of the best steel fabrication available with great quality control to ensure we only provide the best welding around. The range of welding services that we provide includes fabrication, material processing and metallurgy, quality control and repairs.
As welding companies allied with a sister company we are capable of welding and fabricating all engineering materials. Also available is a coding welding service.
We try to use only the highest quality materials in cost effective ways for our welding processes. We try to ensure that all welding processes are met at a professional level; this is why we run the process by the client before the fabrication is done.
There are several different processes that welding companies can use, including gas welding, resistance welding, energy beam welding and solid state steel welding. At Parmac Engineering we try to ensure that our staff is trained in each of these processes as well as helping them gain experience in the process.
Gas welding is a process that uses the combustion of acetylene in oxygen to produce a flame with a temperature of 3100°C. The cooling of this process in slow, this is due to the flame being less concentrated. This process may lead to greater residual stresses and distortions, but it does ease the welding of most high alloy steels.
Resistance welding is a process which passes a current through the resistance caused as two or more metal surfaces meet. This creates heat making it possible to weld. We also use energy beam welding which uses a laser or electron beam to weld the pieces of steel together. Both of these processes can be automated and can be a quick process. The negative of these processes is that the equipment needed for the welding is very expensive and the weld can be susceptible to thermal cracking.
The final type of weld used by welding companies is solid state steel welding. This process is used to weld thin bits of metal together through a process of high frequency vibration and a pressure that joins the bits of steel together.
Our staff at Parmac Engineering is trained in using these techniques to piece together formed or machined parts as the skill and knowledge to be able to weld machines or parts that need to be repaired. We have worked with large companies across the UK and have gained a reputation of having a great service able to deal with most requests.
