Parmac Engineering is the premier business for offering bespoke CNC turning services in the country, operating for everyone from large industrial operations to small home hobbyists.
What is CNC turning? CNC stands for 'computer numerical control', and it is the most common form of turning today. Turning is placing something on a lathe, a machine tool that rotates a work piece o its axis, to create an axis of rotation whereupon you can cut, deform and sand the object with ease. There are two types of CNC turning: horizontal and vertical. These can be further broken down by the number of axes they have, which range from two to six. Horizontal CNC turners are most common in manufacturing and machine shops as they offer more flexibility allowing for more complex parts. We recommend that if you are producing small parts or large volumes to opt for six axes version over the others. A two-axes-vertical CNC turning is very popular in the industry for large diameter work.
